"Life Specimen" is a book that I conceptualized, designed and bound. Each page contains a collection of my personal drawings, objects and typography, sorted by topic. On each of the opposite pages is a removable label with the contents of each specimen jar. I do not view this book as a finished piece, but rather a something that I will add to as I experience and collect new things.

I got bored...this is my own version of decorating Easter eggs.

Upon joining the AIGA-Rhode Island board as their Events Chair I chose to re-brand the Design by Night (DxN) event series. This particular poster was designed for Jyll Either-Mullen, a local artist. Each month the poster is adapted to whatever artist is being highlighted. ***Design by Night (DxN) is AIGA RI’s monthly informal (and FREE!) get together held the 2nd Thursday of every month at a local bar/restaurant in downtown Providence. Each month our goal is to feature local artists and advocates in the industry. In addition to our monthly event we have expanded into providing studio tours, workshops and gallery nights and other social events. ***

I assigned my Design Studio I class a project where they had to conceptualize and brand a restaurant; logo, brand strategy write up and design and comp a menu. I decided to do the project too, and created and branded my dream restaurant and menu... GRAZERS (free range • vegetarian • gluten free).

Each year in the School of Technology at Johnson & Wales University there is a student conference featuring student work. For 2009 I came up with the name "ex*hib"it, student technology & design conference". I created a stencil of "ex*hib"it" and spray painted them on some of the campus newspapers. In addition I designed the above invite which includes a scan my stencil. The following print collateral is being created: posters, banners, directional signage and a program-poster.

"Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA) is a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training internationally responsible engineers and engineering students.

The activities of EWB-USA range from the construction of sustainable systems that developing communities can own and operate without external assistance, to empowering such communities by enhancing local, technical, managerial and entrepreneurial skills. These projects are initiated by, and completed with, contributions from the host community working with our project teams."

Engineers Without Borders USA asked that I design an 8.5x11 tri-fold flyer for them to help promote and get fundraising for their Philippines Project.

all of this print collateral and branding was done for Central Lewmar's Paper Show that was being held at the Mütter Museum in Philadephia. The concept was pulp fiction/murder mystery. I worked with a copy writer to help conceptualize everything. There was a clue book to help the visitor figure out who was the killer. We designed clues and evidence that was strategically placed around the museum. In addition, to encourage the visitors to go to all of the paper vendors, I designed clue cards that each of the vendors would hand out to the visitors. At the end, those that had taken part in the game, submitted their answers and were eligible to win an IPOD as well as other fun prizes.

"Family Portrait" was a magazine designed around profiling different families stories. It was meant to showcase how the definition of family is changing. All of the portraits I took.

The above informational graphic panels were done for a museum exhibit concept titled "Threads, Clothes Conscience". MISSION: Threads reinterprets the mission of the Commercial Museum by examining the global effects of textile production, by focusing on the involvement of individuals. When the Civic Center closed in 1996 its collection was divided among institutions through-out Philadelphia. Many of the objects you will find in Threads are from this collection. Like the Commercial Museum, Threads shows how we are connected through industry and commerce. Using the objects from the original collection keeps the history of the objects and Commercial Museum alive.
(below are photos of the exhibit model made for Threads)

the above photos were taken of an exhibit design model built by myself and another exhibit designer. It was built to scale 1/8"=1', the model shows the general flow and layout of the museum exhibit. The exhibit titled, Threads-Clothes Conscience focuses on the clothing trade, from harvest, import, sweatshops, to your closet.
